A hundred people, including most of the producers and marketing industry of the Spanish sheep and goat sector, met on January 19 to celebrate the VI Seminar convened by the sheep and goat interprofessional, INTEROVIC. The event took place at the C\u00edrculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, where various presentations were given throughout the day with the aim of transmitting relevant knowledge regarding the prospects of the Sheep and Goat sector for the coming years.<\/p>\n

The Seminar was inaugurated by the president of the interprofessional, Ra\u00fal Mu\u00f1iz, who spent a few minutes commenting on the situation in which the sheep sector finds itself, highlighting the good results that have been obtained thanks to the effort of the interprofessional to revive a sector that is had maintained critical figures since 2004. Mu\u00f1iz also highlighted the work being carried out by the sector in reference to animal welfare: “INTEROVIC is working together with the beef industry, in the campaign of “European Animal Welfare Commitment” a campaign that will have a duration of three years and that favors one of the most exciting projects we have launched, the BAIE certificate. This pioneering initiative worldwide reflects the commitment of the sheep and goat sector to comply with the highest welfare standards for our livestock\u201d.<\/p>\n
