Nutriscore is a multicolor labeling system with five letters, from green (A) for the healthiest products, to red (E) for the least.<\/p>\n<p>The year 2024 will begin with changes. Updating a series of algorithm variables will lead olive oil to an improvement from &#8216;C&#8217; to &#8216;B&#8217; (the second best grade) and chocolate cereals from a well-known brand, which had the highest grade &#8216;A&#8217; for having reduced sugar and added whole wheat, to a drop to &#8216;C&#8217; due to its sugar content.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the new system will also warn about ultra-processed foods: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), these types of industrialized products are characterized by having long expiration periods, being palatable and having highly addictive ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>Numerous everyday products can be classified as ultra-processed: canned or dehydrated soups, margarines, breakfast cereals, chips, soft drinks, cookies, jams, sauces, ice cream, chocolates, \u201cenergy\u201d bars and many types of bread, among others. others.<\/p>\n<p>The Nutriscore system is a non-mandatory algorithm.
