Leather Cluster Barcelona together with AcexPiel attended the online information session on the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). Under the title “Prepare to comply with EUDR: update and keys for companies” the webinar was organized by SGS.<\/p>\n

AcexPiel and Leather Cluster Barcelona will participate in the session with the objective of knowing in detail the obligations imposed by the new Regulation of the European Union on Deforestation (EUDR). In this way, Acexpiel and Leather Cluster Barcelona renew their commitment to guide and accompany the leather sector in the transition towards compliance with the EUDR Regulation, strengthening their role of support and advice to associated companies. In the framework of a training session organized by SGS, both entities highlighted the importance of knowing thoroughly European requirements, sharing good practices in sustainability and working together to ensure that the leather industry continues to advance in a responsible and competitive manner.<\/p>\n

During the session, a theoretical vision of the regulation was offered, addressing the obligations, the subjects obliged to fulfill them and the general framework of application. Also priority actions for the companies affected, as well as recommendations on strategies to adapt the supply chain and comply with regulations.<\/p>\n

However, there are still practical aspects to be defined, especially with regard to the platform that will be used to guarantee compliance with the established requirements.<\/p>\n
