\nThe porciFORUM will hold its tenth edition on March 5 and 6, 2025 at the La Llotja Conference Center in Lleida, thus consolidating itself, once again, as the reference event for professionals in the pig sector in Spain. Likewise, coinciding with the tenth edition, the organization has prepared a high-level technical program that will address key topics for veterinarians, technicians and producers, including innovation, pathology, nutrition and production performance, health and animal welfare challenges, among other topics of great interest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A high-level technical programme<\/strong><\/p>\n

The opening day will begin with a round table entitled “5 years living with the Rosal\u00eda strain: Successes, failures and lessons learned”, moderated by Laura P\u00e9rez Sala, and in which Jordi Baliellas, Ana Alegre Sabat\u00e9 and Gl\u00f2ria Abella will participate. Later, Mario Sebasti\u00e1n, a predoctoral researcher at the Institute for Research in Game Resources (IREC), will present the paper “Chronicle of a threat foretold: Study of the interaction between wildlife and livestock in intensive agroecosystems: the case of the wild boar and the domestic pig”.<\/p>\n

The \u00abTechnological Revolution in Porcine Production\u00bb will be the topic of another highly interesting round table discussion, moderated by Alberto Morillo Alujas, with the participation of Henar Gonz\u00e1lez, Lluis Castarlenas and Christian Garc\u00e9s Arias, who will explore the technological innovations in the sector and their respective importance in the daily running of farms. Next, Diego Lescano, veterinarian and Director of KPIs Consulting, will give a talk on \u00abapplied nutrition as an axis for optimising productive performance in the sow-piglet duo\u00bb. The big news of this edition, and with the aim of commemorating the greatest experts in the Spanish pork sector, will be the \u00abMeeting of Titans\u00bb, where Joaquim Segal\u00e9s, Guillermo Ramis, Antonio Velarde, Albert Finestra, Paula S\u00e1nchez and Beatriz Garc\u00eda will meet to address health and animal welfare challenges in the pork sector.<\/p>\n

The second day will include presentations on sustainable environmental management, by Rosa Gallart, and management of human teams in pig farms, presented by Rodrigo \u00c1lvarez. In addition, Guillermo Fondevila will discuss limiting amino acids in pig nutrition, and Jes\u00fas Arenas will address genetic variability, antimicrobial resistance and prevention strategies in invasive Streptococcus suis isolated in Spain.<\/p>\n

The porciFORUM 2025 promises to be an unmissable event for professionals in the pig sector, offering a space for the exchange of knowledge and experiences that drive continuous improvement in the industry.
