{"id":20970,"date":"2025-03-26T19:31:36","date_gmt":"2025-03-26T18:31:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anafric.es\/mapa-opens-prior-public-consultation-on-extending-provacuno-standards-for-the-2026-2030-period\/"},"modified":"2025-03-31T23:17:47","modified_gmt":"2025-03-31T21:17:47","slug":"mapa-opens-prior-public-consultation-on-extending-provacuno-standards-for-the-2026-2030-period","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anafric.es\/en\/mapa-opens-prior-public-consultation-on-extending-provacuno-standards-for-the-2026-2030-period\/","title":{"rendered":"MAPA Opens Prior Public Consultation on Extending PROVACUNO Standards for the 2026-2030 Period"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\" data-start=\"297\" data-end=\"607\">The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food (MAPA) has opened a prior public consultation on the draft ministerial order that would extend the agreement of the Interprofessional Beef Organization (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.provacuno.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PROVACUNO<\/a>) to the entire sector for the 2026-2030 period.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"297\" data-end=\"607\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-20963 \" src=\"https:\/\/anafric.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/El-MAPA-abre-consulta-publica-previa-sobre-la-extension-de-normas-de-PROVACUNO-para-el-periodo-2026-2030.jpg\" alt=\"El MAPA abre consulta p\u00fablica previa sobre la extensi\u00f3n de normas de PROVACUNO para el periodo 2026-2030\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" srcset=\"https:\/\/anafric.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/El-MAPA-abre-consulta-publica-previa-sobre-la-extension-de-normas-de-PROVACUNO-para-el-periodo-2026-2030.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/anafric.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/El-MAPA-abre-consulta-publica-previa-sobre-la-extension-de-normas-de-PROVACUNO-para-el-periodo-2026-2030-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/anafric.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/El-MAPA-abre-consulta-publica-previa-sobre-la-extension-de-normas-de-PROVACUNO-para-el-periodo-2026-2030-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 780px) 100vw, 780px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This extension would require all operators to contribute financially to promotion, communication, sector image, coordination, and support activities, both nationally and internationally, for five years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why is this extension being proposed?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PROVACUNO has submitted this proposal to continue the actions undertaken in previous campaigns and address key challenges facing the sector, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pressure from social movements critical of livestock farming.<\/li>\n<li>Lack of knowledge about how the beef sector actually works.<\/li>\n<li>Structural problems such as generational turnover or labor shortages.<\/li>\n<li>The need for more effective sector coordination.<\/li>\n<li>Adaptation to new regulatory frameworks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Objectives of the proposed standard extension<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Among the main objectives of the new 2026-2030 period are:<\/li>\n<li>Promoting beef consumption in national and international markets.<\/li>\n<li>Defending the sector&#8217;s image and reputation.<\/li>\n<li>Informing society about the reality of production and processing.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting the viability and continuity of all links in the value chain.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening the sector&#8217;s unity and coordination, including cooperation with other livestock chains.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How would this extension be implemented?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The legal mechanism for extending standards is provided for by both national and European legislation and allows the entire value chain, regardless of its membership in the inter-branch organization, to contribute proportionally to common actions, with guarantees of transparency and oversight.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, this model does not require public funding, as it is based on self-financing from the sector itself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to participate?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The full text of the proposal can be found on the MAPA website.
