Composting is a technique that reduces greenhouse gas emissions from manure management and can also generate a value-added product, contributing to nutrient recycling and the circular economy. Although it is a widely known technique, it is necessary to develop protocols that, using beef cattle manure as a raw material, allow for the creation of the most suitable mixtures for each specific situation, assess the impact on emissions, and provide information on the added value.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In this regard, \u00a0Provacuno<\/a>, in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Valencia and Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University, has carried out a research project to contribute to the circular economy through farm management. This project develops a proposal for best available techniques for advanced agrocomposting of beef cattle manure, aimed at mitigating climate change with the following specific objectives:<\/p>\n

\u2981 Generate biofertilizers through agrocomposting from beef cattle manure.
\n\u2981 Design improved, low-cost, and feasible cattle manure management protocols on farms.
\n\u2981 Contribute to reducing ammonia and GHG emissions.<\/p>\n

Presentation event in Lorca (Murcia), on May 20<\/strong><\/p>\n

As a result of this project, Provacuno will hold a conference in Lorca (Murcia) on May 20. It will showcase different agrocomposting scenarios and offer a practical demonstration of complex compost-based pellet manufacturing.<\/p>\n

The event, which can also be followed online upon registration, is in collaboration with Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University, the CIAGRO Institute for Agrifood and Agroenvironmental Research and Innovation, the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Climate Farm Demo, JISAP, and Agrobank.<\/p>\n

The event will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Riscal Hotel in Lorca with a presentation by Javier L\u00f3pez, director of Provacuno, of the results of the advanced agrocomposting project for beef cattle manure.<\/p>\n

Next, Ra\u00fal Moral, Professor at Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University and an expert in waste management, will present advanced manure composting and how it can generate better products on the farm.<\/p>\n

The program will continue with a presentation by Salvador Calvet and Elena Sanch\u00eds, from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, on the best available techniques for managing beef cattle manure.<\/p>\n

Luciano Orden, from Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University, will present the development of advanced biofertilizers from this Provacuno project, with the subtitle of pelletization as added value. Matilde Moro, director of Asoprovac, will introduce attendees to the Climate Farm Demo project.<\/p>\n

At 6:00 p.m., participants will travel to the Living Lab at the JISAP Farm (Finca Pajel, Lorca), where different agrocomposting scenarios will be demonstrated, along with a practical demonstration of the production of complex compost-based pellets. The day will conclude at 7:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
