Under the theme \u201cThe Food Industry: 15 Years Feeding the World\u201d<\/strong>, Agrifood Comunicaci\u00f3n<\/strong> held a new edition of Agrifood Talks<\/strong> in Madrid. The forum analyzed the evolution of the sector over the past fifteen years and identified the key drivers shaping its immediate future: innovation, digitalization, internationalization, and reputation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event was opened by Clemente Mata Tapia<\/strong>, Deputy Director General for Food Chain Competitiveness at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA)<\/strong>, who emphasized the Ministry\u2019s commitment to innovation, training, and sustainability<\/strong> as strategic pillars for strengthening the competitiveness of Spain\u2019s food system.<\/p>\n

A roundtable titled \u201cInnovation, Digitalization, Internationalization, and Reputation\u201d<\/strong> featured speakers Roberto Ortu\u00f1o<\/strong> (AINIA), Manuel L\u00e1inez<\/strong> (Fundaci\u00f3n Cajamar), Rafael Pico<\/strong> (Asoliva), Lourdes Zuriaga<\/strong> (APAE), and Mar\u00eda Naranjo<\/strong> (ICEX). The panelists agreed that technological innovation and digitalization are now essential tools to enhance efficiency, ensure traceability, and strengthen sustainability<\/strong> across the food system.<\/p>\n

They also stressed that internationalization will remain the main engine of growth<\/strong>, alongside the need to enhance sector reputation<\/strong> through transparency, effective communication, and public-private collaboration.<\/p>\n

Experts concluded that the sector is at a critical juncture<\/strong> to consolidate its leadership by accelerating digital transformation in SMEs<\/strong>, promoting knowledge transfer and specialized training<\/strong>, and scaling up circular models<\/strong> that integrate innovation, energy efficiency, and by-product valorization.<\/p>\n

The combination of innovation, sustainability, talent, and reputation<\/strong> will be key to sustaining international growth and reinforcing the industry\u2019s role as an economic, social, and territorial driver<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead to 2030<\/strong>, the goal is clear: lower environmental impact, greater added value, and stronger exports<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
