In this regard, it considers that maintaining agricultural activity is one of the most effective and sustainable solutions for reducing the risk of large fires.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sheep and goats: essential for the region<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At ANAFRIC, we share this view, which coincides with the recent recognition by the European Commission of the strategic role of extensive sheep and goat farming in landscape conservation, biodiversity, and fire prevention.<\/p>\n<p>The flocks act as natural brush cutters, controlling the growth of scrubland and reducing the amount of vegetation fuel. At the same time, they help to retain population, generate economic activity, and keep rural areas alive.<\/p>\n<p>Fire prevention does not depend solely on firefighting resources.
