At Anafric, we are pleased to announce a strategic initiative we are promoting jointly with Interovic to give new impetus to the Catalan sheep and goat sector: the “Buscant en Paquito” project, part of the Som Gastronomia platform of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Government).
This initiative is not just a gastronomic campaign. It is an opportunity to reconnect consumers with local meat, highlighting lamb as a sustainable, innovative food that represents our rural culture. At a time when the sector needs visibility, recognition, and responsible consumption, the “Paquito” is presented as a symbol of authenticity and commitment.
The Ruta del Paquito 2025 will have more than 900 participating establishments throughout Spain and a consolidated presence in Barcelona. This route highlights a local product, adapting it to urban and cosmopolitan tastes through original recipes and promotional materials that seek to attract young people, boost the restaurant industry, and reinforce the role of lamb as the foundation of a sustainable food model.
The official presentation event in Catalonia will take place next Wednesday, June 4th, at 1:00 PM at Apotheke Blubbing (Carrer Viladomat, 43, Barcelona). All ANAFRIC member companies interested in participating are invited to participate.
With this initiative, ANAFRIC reinforces its commitment to promoting the sector and the responsible consumption of locally sourced meat.
