The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Canary Islands is finalizing the payment of a total of 8.5 million euros in direct aid for the farmers of the islands that have been affected by the consequences of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The regional department will publish tomorrow the resolution by which these aids for companies and self-employed owners of goat, sheep, cattle, rabbit, pig and poultry farms are increased, in order to alleviate the economic losses derived from the war conflict. The aid is intended to “inject liquidity into an essential activity for the primary sector”, they have recalled from the Ministry.
