This initiative of the College of Veterinarians of Cadiz, the Meat Livestock Forum, the Delegation of the Government of the Junta de Andalucía in Cadiz and the Provincial Council of Cadiz seeks to promote healthy habits, complete and balanced nutrition and an active and participative lifestyle among schoolchildren. The talks highlight the value and nutritional density of meat and its essential nutrients, the sustainability of livestock farming and its fundamental role in our society, both in the development of rural areas and for all the services and products it provides.
The mayor of Algeciras, José Ignacio Landaluce, and the subdelegate of the Junta de Andalucía in Campo de Gibraltar, Francisco Javier Ros, as well as presidents of Veterinary Colleges from different provinces, participated in this last day.
This campaign for schoolchildren, which has been carried out throughout the year in the different regions of Cadiz, has held sessions since April in El Puerto de Santa María, Jerez de la Frontera and Vejer de la Frontera.
Experts such as the veterinarian and author of the book “Reasons to be an omnivore”, Juan Pascual; the endocrinologist and professor of sports nutrition Antonio Escribano; and the journalist and popularizer José Manuel Álvarez, from the Livestock-Meat Forum, have participated in the talks.
