Leather Cluster Barcelona hosted a working group at the cluster headquarters to develop a project in the field of regenerative agriculture and traceability. These two days of work were promoted by the Global Nature Foundation, the foundation dedicated to the protection of nature, with whom Leather Cluster Barcelona has been in talks for over a year to shape the project.
The objective of this project is to leverage all of Leather Cluster Barcelona’s know-how and resources to conduct a pilot test with hides from regenerative livestock farming.
In addition to the work meetings, the project group enjoyed the cluster’s leather ecosystem with visits to the Curtidos Badia leather factory, the A3 Leather Innovation Center on the Igualada UdL Campus, and the water treatment plant at the Igualada leather industry (IDR).
This project is an example that demonstrates that, in 2025, Leather Cluster Barcelona continues its strategic focus on providing a unique value proposition to its members, with various projects developed within each of Leather Cluster Barcelona’s strategic lines of action: circular economy, sustainability, talent, innovation, best practices (including animal welfare and traceability), and communication, based on shared value.
