Galicia will have the first mobile slaughterhouse service in Spain. This is a pioneering service that will travel through the community to slaughter animals near farms that are located at a great distance from a fixed slaughterhouse. The objective is to avoid costly trips for farmers and stress to their animals.
According to El Español on its website, this new service is aimed primarily at the slaughter of pigs, sheep and goats, its operation will be on demand and with a daily route based on notices and requests.
Likewise, the waste generated and the pieces that are sacrificed will be stored in a warehouse in Chantada (Lugo), which will be available to the owners. All of this with its corresponding quality seal that “will prove that the meat is part of the local products of Galicia.”
