The presentation of the book “The Challenges of the Spanish Pork Sector,” produced by INTERPORC and Cajamar, brought together experts and professionals from the sector in Segovia to discuss two major challenges: attracting new generations and strengthening biosecurity.
During the event, the need to show young people the value and opportunities of a career in the pork sector was highlighted. Real-life cases such as those of Raquel Conde, Hugo Álvarez, Tomás Ángel Centeno, and Jorge Pérez demonstrate that generational change is possible and necessary.
The importance of maintaining health status against diseases such as PRRS was also emphasized, with presentations by Jordi Baliellas and Mariano Herrero, who warned of the need to implement strict protocols to prevent its spread.
The event concluded with the screening of the trailer for the documentary “The Year of the Relay,” available on Prime Video and Rakuten TV, which highlights the passion and commitment of young people to the future of Spanish pork.
