Under the title “Carbon sequestration in beef production”, members of the SECUESVAC Operating Group will explain how beef production can contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change through carbon sequestration, in a webinar that will take place on February 18 at 4 p.m. and will be streamed on the GO SECUESVAC YouTube channel.
Javier López, director of PROVACUNO, will make a brief presentation of the project and will give way to Óscar del Hierro, researcher at the Basque Institute for Agricultural Research and Development, Neiker, who will delve into how livestock farming can contribute to reducing carbon emissions into the atmosphere and how to obtain scientific reference data that can be used to measure and support carbon sequestration.
Following him, Jesús López Colmenarejo, executive director of Grupo Editorial Agrícola-Henar Comunicación, will lead the round table “Actions of the agri-food sector to mitigate climate change”. José Manuel Macarulla, executive director of the Association of Breeders of Brown Mountain Cattle (ARAPARDA) and Agustín de Prada, director of ASOPROVAC Castilla y León, will participate in it.
