The Salamanca municipality of Guijuelo became the meeting point for more than 400 professionals from the Iberian pork sector on Friday, June 13th, for the 9th Porc d’Or Ibérico Awards gala, a key event to recognize the effort, innovation, and commitment to sustainability of the country’s most outstanding farms.
In this edition, 32 awards were presented to 22 pig farms, located mainly in Castilla y León, Extremadura, and Andalusia, regions that are once again positioning themselves as leaders in Iberian production. These awards, promoted by IRTA and based on technical data collected by the BDporc Ibérico tool, reflect the daily work to improve efficiency and animal welfare.
Among the special recognitions, the following stand out:
🏆 Maximum Productivity: Ibéricos Encinas S.L. (Salamanca), for its excellent results in piglets weaned per sow.
🌿 Outdoor Production: Dehesa del Rey (Córdoba), for its extensive pasture model, in harmony with the natural environment.
🧬 One Health Award – Ceva Animal Health: La Ensancha (Badajoz), for its comprehensive approach to animal health and veterinary collaboration.
🌱 Sustainability – MAPA: Granja Morante (Badajoz), for its environmental commitment and animal welfare.
💎 Diamond Award: Covel Boceguillas (Segovia), for its overall excellence in management and production.
The Iberian Porc d’Or Awards are supported by ASICI, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, the Guijuelo City Council, and numerous industry organizations. They have established themselves as a platform for highlighting the value of responsible, technologically advanced production.
