INTEROVIC celebrated its 25th anniversary with a commemorative event at the MK Paz Cinemas in Madrid. This event brought together industry representatives, culinary experts, and institutional leaders. ANAFRIC was also present, with José Friguls, president, and Antoni Antoni Jové, vice president of ANAFRIC and president of the interprofessional association from 2009 to 2012.
During the event, which will last until 2:30 p.m. and culminate with a cocktail party at Pastoreo, the pop-up organized by the interprofessional association for the fifth consecutive year, the main trends in consumption, sustainability, and innovation in suckling lamb, kid, and goat meat will be discussed.

25 Years Promoting the Sector
Since its creation, INTEROVIC—recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food—has worked to promote consumption, modernize the image of lamb with new cuts adapted to today’s consumer, and highlight the environmental value of grazing. It has also contributed to the opening of international markets and the gastronomic positioning of “Paquito,” the popular lamb sandwich that has become an emblem of responsible and sustainable consumption.
A Day with Prominent Voices
The opening ceremony was led by Tomás Rodríguez, Director of INTEROVIC, and Elena Busutil, General Director of Agricultural Productions and Markets. Speakers included Elena Rodríguez (Royal Academy of Gastronomy), Rosa Vañó (Castillo de Canena), Carlos Gelabert (The Fitzgerald), and Saúl Sanz (Terzio Restaurant), who addressed new gourmet trends and the success of “Paquito.”
The program also includes speeches by Beatriz Casares (INTEROVIC) and Bárbara Calvaresi (AECOC), as well as a tribute to the presidents who have led the interprofessional association over the past 25 years. The closing ceremony will be led by Emilio García Muro, Director General of Agri-Food Production and Animal Welfare, and Raúl Muñiz, President of INTEROVIC.

Film and Rural Reflection
This afternoon, the film “Lo que queda de ti” by Gala Gracia will be screened. This story champions rural life, generational change, and connection to the land. After the screening, the director will participate in a discussion on the shared values between film and sustainable livestock farming.
Looking to the Future
With this celebration, INTEROVIC reaffirms its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and rural development, pillars that will continue to guide the future of a sector essential to the Spanish agri-food economy and identity.
