The Interprofessional Agri-Food Association of White-Coated Pork (INTERPORC) and Alimentaria have signed a strategic collaboration agreement for Alimentaria + Hostelco 2026, which will take place from March 23 to 26 at the Gran Vía venue of Fira de Barcelona and will bring together more than 100,000 professionals from 150 countries.
Alberto Herranz, general director of INTERPORC, participated in the signing, while Anna Canal, director of Alimentaria, and Ricardo Márquez, director of Alimentaria FoodTech and brand manager of Intercarn, the meat sector’s dedicated trade fair within Alimentaria, represented Fira de Barcelona.
With this first agreement, the Interprofessional becomes a Collaborating Association of the fair, and its general director joins the Intercarn Organizing Committee.
During the event, emphasis was placed on the profound impact of the collaboration between the Interprofesional and the trade fair as a value proposition for the white-coated pork sector.
In addition, various options were proposed for development, not only at Alimentaria and Intercarn, but also at other related trade shows. The holding of a major sector forum, modeled on those being organized by INTERPORC in other autonomous communities, with a significant presence of pork sector professionals, was also proposed.
Alberto Herranz, General Director of the Interprofesional, emphasized that “we are convinced that this agreement will allow us to achieve greater reach for our promotional efforts in the pork sector, both nationally and internationally.”
Alimentaria + Hostelco is one of the world’s largest gatherings for the food and hospitality industry, and Intercarn is the largest and most visited area.
