Leather Cluster Barcelona Boosts the International Reach of the Leather Sector at Lineapelle

Leather Cluster Barcelona strengthened its role as an international benchmark for the leather industry during its participation in Lineapelle, one of the world’s most prestigious trade fairs dedicated to leather, accessories, and components for the footwear, leather goods, clothing, and furniture sectors, held in Milan from September 23 to 25.

Cluster Manager Mònica Santamans and Project Manager Carla Vélez developed an intense work agenda at the trade fair, holding meetings with international organizations and associations to enhance synergies and establish collaborations in key areas such as research, innovation, sustainability, the circular economy, sustainable fashion, training, and communication.

These meetings with companies and stakeholders in the leather sector’s value chain seek to consolidate Leather Cluster Barcelona as a strategic platform for innovation, internationalization, and sustainability for the sector in Catalonia.

This year’s edition featured 1,150 exhibitors from 37 countries, consolidating Lineapelle as a global showcase for the fashion, luxury, and design industries.

Catalan tanneries take center stage in Milan

A total of ten tanning companies associated with Leather Cluster Barcelona participated in the fair, showcasing the quality and versatility of Catalan leather on this international stage.

The firms Curtits Aqualata, Curtidos Badia, Colomer 1792, Combalia, Despell, La Doma, Miret y CIA, Morera Pell, Curtidos Riba Guixà, and Miguel Farrés Rojas (Splenda) presented their latest offerings, championing leather as an example of the circular economy and sustainable fashion in one of the world’s fashion capitals.
