The Agricultural Declaration (DUN) is the system that the owners of agricultural holdings in Catalonia have to communicate the data of their holdings to the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food (DARPA), and which facilitates the submission of aid applications and the different procedures and/or communications that they must carry out for their professional activity.
Therefore, the DUN 2025 can be submitted from February 1st until December 31st; However, if you are applying for Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) aid: direct, sustainability or competitiveness, you must submit it from February 1 to April 30, 2025.
This is a consolidated campaign that the Department began working on 25 years ago with what was then called Information and Communication Technologies, ICTs, and which has become a true revolution in the management of CAP aid and the Department’s procedures, being a model that has been shared with many autonomous communities.
Therefore, the campaign that is now beginning will be the third of the 2023-2027 CAP period, and the changes that have been introduced over all these years in aid to the agricultural and livestock sector are already consolidated in the requirements of the current period.
On the other hand, the DUN computer application is the tool that serves to have all the agricultural holdings in Catalonia well characterized in the Farm Identification System of Catalonia (SIDEAC).
And in the 2023-2027 CAP period, this information is key to simplifying and making more efficient the controls of the CAP aid that the European Commission is obliged to make. And at the same time being able to make the most appropriate decisions for the agricultural sector in Catalonia.
It is for this reason that in recent weeks, training sessions have been held for the Collaborating Entities that process the DUN as well as for the staff of the Department of Agriculture in order to make known the new features and particularities of this 2025 campaign. The more than 200 technicians who attended the sessions have the necessary documentation and support tutorial videos at their disposal on the DUN website.
On the other hand, 4 information sessions have also been held on the management of aid related to common pastures intended for municipalities and entities that carry out the allocations of pasture areas.
The 2025 version of the DUN continues to expand its functionalities with the consolidation of LaMevaDUN, which improves the interconnection between citizens and administration, and enables the consultation of the status of the file for farmers and ranchers, the amounts of all aid paid, and allows the exchange of documentation, which in 2024 represented more than 43,000 documents submitted electronically and the sending of more than 99,000 photographs through the FotoDUN app. This tool contributes to achieving the objectives of the simplification model promoted by the Government to reduce bureaucracy in the agricultural sector.
In this sense, the set of aid applications that are managed in an integrated manner with the DUN Agricultural Declaration is estimated at a total of more than 320 million euros, of which 250 million euros correspond to direct aid and 70 million euros to aid from the Global Exploitation Contract of the Rural Development Programme (PDR) of Catalonia 2023-2027 of the CAP.
