José Ramón Gabás, from Piasa, Javier Solano, from Binaga, Eliseu Isla, from Cooperativa d’Ivars, and Pau Salse, from Agromont, have today been proclaimed winners of the VIII edition of the PronosVac awards, awards organised by Mercolleida that recognise the best beef market analysts for the year 2024. The event took place at the facilities of the Avicon Livestock Cooperative in Consuegra (Toledo) and brought together fifty people, including operators from the bovine sector, institutions and Mercolleida collaborators from all over Spain.
The PronosVac awards recognise the best analysts of the MonVac table -National Market of Beef Cattle-, currently made up of the Mercolleida and Mercamurcia markets. Every Wednesday, the operators of this table meet at the Mercolleida facilities, either in person or by videoconference, in the so-called MonVac Price Meeting, which aims to establish the prices of the different categories of national beef cattle according to the reality of the market at the time. Moments before the meeting, the members of this table make a forecast of the result with which they believe the session will end and based on this forecast the PronosVac awards are organised: those who have had the most successes throughout the year 2024 are the ones who will be awarded in this edition.
The winners of the different categories are the following:
- PronosVac Male Crossbreed Award: José Ramón Gabás, from Pulpas y Alimentos SL (Piasa).
- PronosVac Female Crossbreed Award: Javier Solano, from Binaga SA.
- PronosVac Friesian Award: Eliseu Isla, from Cooperativa d’Ivars.
- PronosVac Female Catalan Award: Pau Salse, from Agromont SL.
