PROVACUNO Raises Over €162,000 from Madrid Cow Gallery Auction to Be Donated to Those Affected by DANA

Javier López, director of PROVACUNO, the Spanish Beef Interprofessional Organization, has presented a check for €162,300, raised at the Madrid Cow Gallery auction, to Interioristas en Acción.

The 42 works from Madrid Cow Gallery—the exhibition that fused art and nature into a unique canvas, a cow-shaped sculpture—were auctioned by Subastas Segre on January 13th at an event held in the auditorium of the Casa de Vacas Cultural Center in Buen Retiro Park in Madrid, to a packed house.

The exhibition, an initiative of PROVACUNO and Kibo Media Comunicación, was on display in the streets of Madrid between September and December thanks to an agreement signed between Madrid City Council and PROVACUNO. From mid-December until the day of the auction, it was on display outside Casa de Vacas.

The entire proceeds of the auction have been donated to aid those affected by the DANA flood in Valencia through Interioristas en Acción, a group that brings together experts from the decoration, interior design, and architecture sectors with the aim of helping families affected by the DANA flood, many of whom saw their homes devastated. This project seeks to coordinate resources and support to restore a safe and habitable space to those who have lost so much.

Interioristas en Acción, in numbers

To ensure an equitable and transparent allocation of resources, a traceability logistics system was established that is allowing for the efficient management of donations made to Interioristas en Acción.

The project was coordinated from a 12,000 m² pavilion at Feria Valencia, which served as a logistics center for the reception and distribution of €1,760,000 in materials and furniture, directly from factories and companies, and €172,000 in cash donations.

Throughout its development, more than 9,000 requests for assistance were received, directly benefiting more than 900 families (approximately 2,700 people) with the delivery of these essential resources.

A 10-person operational team was working on the project, which included the collaboration of the UME (Union of the Spanish Army) and the Army, mobilizing up to 70 soldiers and five trucks for transport logistics. The participation of more than 2,000 collaborators from the sector, including interior designers, architects, decorators, and a thousand civilian volunteers, was also key.
