According to ICEX data, Spain has exported meat and meat derivatives for a value of 5,033.73 million euros in the period between January and June 2022. This figure is 1.3% higher than the value obtained in 2021. Fruit of the global rise in meat prices, Spain, like other countries, has seen the value of its sales increase despite the fact that the amount exported, 1.78 million tons, is 5.7% lower than the of the first half of 2021.
France has been the country that has made the largest purchases, with 667.3 million euros (-13%), followed by China with 646.8 million euros (-66%), Portugal (488 million euros, +32, 3%) and Japan with 416.8 million euros (+82.1%).
In beef, what is exported amounts to a total of 119,327 t (+12%) for a value of 602.12 million euros.
In sheep and goat, the first semester has offered a drop in exports with 39,288 t, 13.3% less, for a value that, however, has grown by 7% to 184.1 million euros.
