INTEROVIC has concluded an intense week of promoting sheep and goat meat in Japan, as part of the European program Exclusive Lamb From EU, with the aim of consolidating the presence of these products in one of the most demanding and highest value-added markets in the world.
Since Japan authorized the import of Spanish sheep and goat meat in 2020, the road has not been easy due to the impact of the pandemic. However, INTEROVIC has worked intensively in recent years to position this product in strategic markets, with Japan being a key player, along with Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
To strengthen the appeal of Spanish meat, INTEROVIC collaborated with Michelin-starred chef Miguel Ángel de la Cruz, who was responsible for showcasing the culinary versatility of lamb and goat meat in various cooking shows, tastings, and professional meetings in Osaka and Tokyo.
Activities included:
- Presence at EXPO Osaka, an international showcase showcasing the qualities of Spanish sheep and goat meat.
- Showroom events for the hospitality industry, with culinary demonstrations and presentations for Japanese importers, distributors, and chefs.
- A final event for consumers, held at the prestigious Hibiya Palace restaurant in Tokyo, where 50 attendees enjoyed a unique gastronomic experience.
- More than 100 professionals were able to learn firsthand about the Spanish production model, focused on traceability, sustainability, and quality. Furthermore, several Spanish companies in the sector took advantage of this initiative to establish business contacts with key players in the Japanese market.
At ANAFRIC, we highly value this type of action, which opens new horizons for Spanish sheep and goat meat. Japan, with its high standards and preference for healthy and sustainable products, represents an excellent opportunity to continue growing in exports and diversifying markets.
