The Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, and Food of the Generalitat (Catalan Government) will allocate 1.45 million euros to promote the capture of wild boars and the marketing of their meat. The goal is to contribute to reducing the damage these animals cause and curbing diseases that can spread and affect livestock species and public health. The aid will go to hunting associations and game collection centers, which manage these wild boars and facilitate their marketing.
According to the statement, there are five lines of aid, which together can allocate up to €1,450,000. These lines are aimed at promoting the use of meat from captured animals in order to introduce it into the marketing circuit through hunting aid and transport assistance, reception at logistics points (EMCC), the creation of new PLCCs, as well as improvement works at existing ones, and assistance to PLCCs for the disposal of animal by-products not intended for human consumption.
Compared to previous years, the financial amount allocated to each line has been increased in 2025, representing a total increase of 55.7% compared to the 2024 call. Recipients can apply until May 19.
