The Government of Castilla – La Mancha is finalising the roadmap for the deployment of Biomethane production

The regional Government is finalising the preparation of the roadmap that will regulate the deployment of Biomethane production in Castilla-La Mancha, with the aim of “improving the use of the multitude of agricultural and livestock waste that we generate in the region, while promoting the deployment of the production of a renewable gas that will help us accelerate the energy transition of Castilla-La Mancha”.

This was stated by the Minister of Sustainable Development, Mercedes Gómez, during the Conference “The Energy Transition, an opportunity for the rural environment”.

In this context, he stressed that, through this new Regional Biomethane Plan, “we seek to contribute to the decarbonisation of our energy system, promoting the circular economy by valorising a type of waste that can generate significant benefits for our primary sector, with both our farmers and ranchers benefiting from its use, and therefore promoting the creation of wealth and development in our rural areas”.
