The meeting of butchers, delicatessens and poultry farmers is here to stay. The date for the second edition will be announced in the coming weeks. The first edition of MEAT XPERIENCE, held on October 27 and 28 at La Farga de L’Hospitalet, has exceeded expectations by receiving more than 4,000 visitors.
This event, which has had the support of Anafric, among others, has been organized by the Impacta Group agency and promoted by the Catalan Federation of Butchers and Meat Producers-Cansaladers and GremiCarn, and has fulfilled its objectives of revitalizing the sector and promoting collaboration between professionals in the specialized meat trade.
This was explained by Jorge Martín, director of the fair, who stressed the importance of the event for the growth of butcher shops, delicatessens and poultry shops: “MEAT XPERIENCE has proven to be a vital meeting point for innovation in the sector. We hope that the next edition will continue to consolidate this unique space.”
Among the highlighted activities, the exhibition of the Spanish Butchers’ Team, held on October 28, was a great success. Attendees were able to observe live the techniques of the professionals who will represent Spain in the next World Butchers’ Challenge in Paris in 2025. In addition, demonstrations were carried out at the stands of more than 60 exhibitors and 250 brands, presenting the latest innovations and high-quality products for the butcher, delicatessens and poultry sector.
The fair was inaugurated with the presence of Marta Angerri, general director of Commerce of the Ministry of Business and Employment of the Generalitat de Catalunya, together with José Antonio Alcaide Martín, mayor of the City Council of l’Hospitalet and the director of the fair, Jorge Martín, who were accompanied by Pròsper Puig, president of the Catalan Federation of Butchers Cansaladers Xarcuters and president of GremiCarn Barcelona, and Antoni Gálvez, president of the Gremi de Carnissers Xarcuters i Aviram de Barcelona, who were interested in the activities of the different exhibiting companies.
