Performance by Region and Cut

  • All major regions of the country showed growth in value and volume, and were above the historical average for the past five years.
  • Cities such as Houston and Denver led the increase in sales value, with increases of 27% each.

American Lamb

Exclusive sales of U.S.-produced lamb also benefited from the overall boost:

  • Value: +16.5%
  • Quantity: +15.3%

Cuts such as ground lamb, blade chops, and loin chops were among the fastest-growing in both parameters.

Domestic lamb and yearling lamb production was also up 7.7% year-over-year.

Inflation and Prices

Although consumers are carefully evaluating their food options, inflation has played a significant role:

The average price of lamb in the U.S. rose from $8.03 per pound to $8.40 per pound in the last year, representing a 4.6% increase. Despite this price increase, volume growth suggests that demand remains strong.
