87% of the meat industry, concerned about the increase in energy costs and raw materials

The eighth edition of the Barometer of the Meat Industry has made clear the difficult situation that many companies are going through when having to face the increase in energy costs and raw materials. 87.3% of the companies participating in the Barometer have shown that they are affected by all these factors.

According to ANICE and Cajar, the promoters of the Barometer, there has also been a drop in sentiment towards the meat industry that could have caused situations such as a slowdown in consumption, inflation and an unfavorable environment for meat activity in which it is being asked to reduce the consumption of meat or new taxes on the use of plastics in the food sector.

Regarding the progress of exports, for companies they are an important economic engine for the sector, according to what was stated by 83.7% of the companies.
