Galicia will enable a new call for aid to promote extensive livestock farming in strategic areas, with the aim of preventing forest fires. According to the president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, there will be three lines of aid: one for the management of livestock, another for preventing damage suffered by cattle, and a third to implement and improve pastures for cattle.
The specific areas will be included in the Pladiga, the Xunta’s annual plan for the fight against forest fires, which will be based on the historical record of fires recorded in the area.
