ANAFRIC is a member of the Intercarn 2026 Committee, Alimentaria’s largest meat and meat products trade show, which will be held from March 23 to 26, 2026, at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue. ANAFRIC’s active presence on this committee reinforces its strategic role as a spokesperson for the sector and a driving force behind key initiatives for industry development.
Intercarn will once again be the driving force behind Alimentaria, growing 10% compared to the previous edition and now occupying 25% of the show’s total space. The show will host more than 350 national and international companies with an offering ranging from fresh products to processed, cured, and pre-cooked products. In addition, the presence of international buyers from strategic export markets such as the Middle East will increase.
The event will feature the participation of the leading brands in the Spanish meat sector, representing around 70% of the sector’s turnover in Spain. Also present will be numerous SMEs, producing regions such as Castilla y León, Catalonia, Huelva, and Galicia, and recognized quality seals such as Jabugo, Pedroches, and Teruel, among others.
Greater international presence
On the international stage, companies from countries such as Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Poland are confirmed to be attending, consolidating Intercarn as a major showcase for Spanish meat products worldwide.
As a strategic pillar of Alimentaria, Intercarn will strengthen its international presence with an expanded program of guest buyers from more than 15 countries, including France, Germany, China, Japan, Mexico, and the United Arab Emirates. This initiative will open up new business opportunities for participating companies.
The Spanish meat industry continues to be a key driver of the national economy, with a turnover of more than €33 billion in 2023, representing 2.72% of the national GDP and 27.3% of the total food sector.
ANAFRIC, as a member of the Intercarn Organizing Committee, reaffirms its commitment to promoting the meat sector and its internationalization, working to ensure that the 2026 edition is a collective success for companies in the sector.
