Asturian farms will receive an average of 11,000 euros of CAP funds

In this exercise, the Principality of Asturias mobilizes 96 million in aid from the CAP (Common Agrarian Policy), to promote the agricultural and livestock sector. The 2023 call closed on June 30 with 8,837 applications submitted. This is the first campaign in which the National Strategic Plan of the CAP 2023-2027 is applied, a period in which Asturias will have 600 million that will generate opportunities for territorial development, entrepreneurship and generational change in rural areas. Thus, with the aid mobilized, each farm will receive an average of €11,000.

Among the main novelties of the call, the implementation of the ecoregimes stands out, which are voluntary measures to promote practices favorable to the environment and which in this new PAC period are exempt from personal income tax.

Altogether, 7,911 applicants for a total of 227,513 hectares have accepted the ecoregimes, mainly for extensive grazing, with 7,297 applications and 211,838 hectares, which represents a percentage of more than 83.03%, followed by that of crop rotation and islands of biodiversity.
