Batallé is a family story that begins, as in many houses, a hundred years ago, with the slaughter of pigs and the making of sausages by Pere Batallé, grandfather of the current owners, and his son. These elaborations were sold in a shop in Riudarenes run by Aunt María.
Josep i Pere Batallé, the current owners, had to take over the company at the ages of 21 and 19, after the death of his father. Thanks to their vision and the support of their uncles, they began what they were so good at: working hard. The extensions of the ships were happening as it was being perfected and doing things in a different way.
The Duroc breed comes into play. Batallé observes that the performance of that breed is very remarkable and that the quality of its meat is excellent. It bets on these pigs and bets on the continuous improvement of its genetics at a national level. Quickly the two brothers know that they are going in the right direction.
You are good if you have good people
But Batallé’s success today is not only the fruit of the pig, it is also the fruit of its people. Supported by the family, the brothers have added 50 years at the head of the company. The testimony is already today of the 4th generation, leading a company with an international vision and with the values that have accompanied it during its 100-year history. Quality by principle.
Batallé has received a commemorative plaque that recognizes the centenary trajectory of the company, which in 2020 will be one hundred years old.
