Castilla-La Mancha allocates 160 million euros to organic agriculture and livestock

Castilla-La Mancha is committed to organic production. The Rural Development Program 2023-2027′, which the regional executive has just launched, will allocate 160 million euros, 17% of its total funds, to agriculture and ecological livestock.

The government of Castilla-La Mancha wants to promote the conversion of conventional to organic production and facilitating aid in Red Natura areas and areas with natural difficulties and they affirm that “no farmer who wants to go organic will be left out”, since They will have priority, according to the Cárnica header.

With this premise, Castilla-La Mancha has begun the process to certify more than 300,000 hectares of communal pastures as organic, which will mean an increase of 75 percent in the ecological area of the region, placing Spain as the first European country in ecological surface.
