Eliseu Isla, from Cooperativa d’Ivars; Pau Salse, from Agromont SL and Ramon Cortadellas, from Carns B, have been proclaimed winners of the VII edition of the PronosVac awards, awards presented by Mercolleida jointly with Mercamurcia, and which recognize the best analysts of the beef market in 2023.
The event took place at the Cobadu Central Facilities in Zamora and brought together fifty people, among whom were operators of the bovine sector, institutions and collaborators of Mercolleida from all over Spain.
The PronosVac awards recognize the best analysts on the MonVac table -National Origin Market for Beef Beef-, currently made up of the Mercolleida and Mercamurcia markets. Every Wednesday, the operators of this table meet at the Mercolleida facilities, either in person or by videoconference, at the so-called MonVac Price Board, which has the objective of establishing the prices of the different categories of beef. national according to the reality of the market at the time. Moments before the meeting, the members of this table make a forecast of the result with which they believe the session will end and based on this forecast the PronosVac awards are organized.
The winners of the different categories are the following:
- PronosVac Male Cross Award: Eliseu Isla, from Cooperativa d’Ivars.
- PronosVac Crossbred Female Award: Pau Salse, from Agromont SL. PronosVac Frisian Award: Ramón Cortadellas, from Carns B.
- PronosVac Catalan Female Award: Pau Salse, from Agromont SL.
It is the first year that the PronosVac awards are held in Zamora, given that the contest changes venue every year. Furthermore, as a result of the pandemic, they had to be postponed for 2 years.
