Do you know that firefighter cows or sheep are a natural and efficient firewall?

The role of the ‘firefighter cows’ or the ‘firefighter sheep’ is very important to act as a natural and efficient firewall, which helps fight forest fires and thus reduces the risk for the firefighting brigades, which in many occasions they risk their lives in front of the fire every summer. Look this summer!

In 2021, a total of 19 “major fires” were registered, a category that includes those that exceed 500 affected forest hectares. Fifteen of them took place during the summer campaign and another four during the winter campaign, with a damaged forest area of 31,375 hectares.

This year we have burned more than 200,000 hectares. Why don’t we bet more on the maintenance of the livestock activity to fight against the fire?
