Fira de Barcelona is strengthening its commitment to China as a strategic market and is organising two new trade fairs this past four months. These are Alimentaria Chengdú, which took place on 19 and 20 September; and Smart City Expo Hangzhou, from 25 to 29 September.
The first Chinese edition of Alimentaria, the leading trade fair in the world of food at Fira de Barcelona, which is organised jointly with Sichuan International Expo Group, has had an exhibition area with 100 companies and associations that have presented the latest developments in food products and services, as well as an activities area with talks, presentations, showcookings and masterclasses.
A week later, the first edition of Smart City Expo Hangzhou will take place, taking over from Smart City Shanghai, held last year. The show will focus on emerging cities in Asia and how technology can contribute to their sustainable development. In addition, up to 200 experts will take part in the congress to share strategies.
