Florida, first state to ban the sale of laboratory-grown meat in the United States

Florida, with its governor Ron DeSantis, has approved the law that makes the state the first in the United States to prohibit the sale and distribution of laboratory-grown meat. The approval of the sale of this type of meat was the result of many years of regulatory processes and studies in which standards were established to ensure that foods comprising or containing cultured animal cells entering the United States market are safe and correctly labeled.

“We must protect our incredible farmers and the integrity of American agriculture. Lab-grown meat is a shameful attempt to undermine our proud traditions and prosperity, and is in direct opposition to authentic agriculture,” said Florida Agriculture Commissioner , Wilton Simpson, according to Azteca TV.
