Transformative cuisine committed to the preservation of biodiversity will be the main theme of the program of the next edition of Gastronomic Forum Barcelona, the reference show for hospitality, specialized trade and gastronomy professionals at Fira de Barcelona. In total, nearly 120 activities will be held, involving more than 200 chefs, pastry chefs, sommeliers and other gastronomy experts.
Gastronomic Forum Barcelona, which will take place from November 6 to 8 in Palace 8 of the Fira de Barcelona Montjuic venue, will show the commitment of the world of gastronomy to sustainability, the protection of biodiversity and the drive for social transformation.
During the Gastronomic Forum Barcelona 2023, the Catalan Tourism Agency and the Conselleria d’Acció Climàtica, Alimentació i Agenda Rural of the Generalitat de Catalunya will present the designation of Catalonia as a World Gastronomy region for the year 2025. This is an initiative promoted by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism (IGCAT) and represents an important recognition of the leadership role of Catalan cuisine in the world.
As a novelty, Gastronomic Forum Barcelona will host a Tribute to Women in the Rural World, promoted by the Barcelona Provincial Council, as well as The Baker award and the Best Hotel Maître. And for one more edition, the Mercader, InnoForum, Best Panetone and Plat Favorit dels Catalans awards will be presented again.
The sessions dedicated to innovation and management of hospitality establishments will take place in ForumLab, run by the organization of Gastronomic Forum Barcelona and Cluster Food Service. This space will also host the Foodture congress – organized by Barcelona Center de Disseny, BCD – and the International Congress of Restoration and Circular Economy, an initiative of the Sustainable Restaurants Foundation.
