INTEROVIC Promotes Lamb at the Meat & Fire Barcelona 2025 Festival

The Interprofessional Agri-Food Organization for Sheep and Goats (INTEROVIC) will participate from June 13 to 15 in the third edition of the international Meat & Fire Festival, which will be held at the Moll de la Fusta in Barcelona’s Port Vell district. This event, considered one of Europe’s major gastronomic events, brings together more than 30 nationally and internationally renowned chefs and grillers and is part of the Catalunya Region World Gastronomy 2025 program.

MEAT - Fire

INTEROVIC will be represented by the prestigious Cañitas Maite team, led by chefs Javier Sanz and Juan Sahuquillo, who will prepare the iconic Paquito sandwich, based on lamb leg, citrus yogurt sauce, pickles, arugula, and sheep cheese. In addition, master roaster José Carlos Leal will offer a live demonstration of lamb roasting on a cross, a traditional technique that combines spectacle and flavor.

The lambs served during the festival will bear the seal of origin and quality of the Protected Geographical Indications (PGI) Ternasco de Aragón and Corderex (Lamb of Extremadura).

INTEROVIC’s participation in Meat & Fire 2025 reinforces its commitment to promoting the consumption of sheep and goat meat, highlighting their key role in sustainability and rural development. In line with the European campaign “Celebrate everyday life with lamb,” the organization highlights the environmental characteristics of this type of meat, sourced from more than 185,000 farms in Spain that actively contribute to preserving the landscapes, biodiversity, and the rural socioeconomic fabric.
