INTERPORC Reinforces its Commitment to Rural Areas at the Los Pedroches Rural Olympics

INTERPORC has renewed its support for the Los Pedroches Rural Olympics, one of the most emblematic initiatives in rural Spain, which will celebrate its 17th edition from July 3rd to 5th in Añora (Córdoba).

This event has established itself as a national benchmark for its ability to unite tradition, sport, culture, and community, reviving traditional rural games and adapting them to a competitive team format.

This year, 48 teams will participate, competing in 16 events inspired by traditional activities. The event brings together people of different ages and backgrounds around values such as shared effort, teamwork, and a strong connection to the land.

Revitalizing Rural Municipalities

INTERPORC’s collaboration with this event once again highlights the importance of promoting initiatives that contribute to revitalizing rural municipalities, strengthening their social fabric, and generating new opportunities for economic development.

Support for rural areas is especially important for the pork sector, as a significant part of its activity takes place precisely in these areas, where it contributes to job creation, population retention, and the continued vitality of the local economy.

At ANAFRIC, we highlight these types of initiatives because they help to showcase the strategic role of the meat sector in territorial cohesion and the economic and social sustainability of many rural regions.

Tradition and innovation are not opposing concepts: the future of the sector also depends on continuing to strengthen the link between production, territory, and society.
