Leather Cluster Barcelona took part in a new business-engagement session organised by the Anoia Business Union Foundation (UEA). The activity, which also included the participation of Fruits Secs Torra and Calaf Grup, was aimed at newly arrived young people currently living in reception centres and supported housing in Òdena, Hostalets de Pierola, Piera and Igualada.

The session is part of the Ponts de Futur (“Bridges to the Future”) project, promoted by the Anoia County Council and the UEA Foundation. The initiative seeks to connect young people with the local productive fabric and provide them with tools to support their social and labour integration.
During the session, participants learned first-hand how different companies in the region operate, discovered the local work culture and listened to the testimonies of workers who have built their careers within these companies. This direct contact is essential to broaden their horizons and improve future employment opportunities.
The activity included visits to two companies: ABC Global Solutions, in the chemical sector, and the tannery Curtidos Badia, where the young participants observed the leather production process and interacted with professionals from various departments.
The group showed great interest and strong motivation to enter the labour market and access new training opportunities.
Leather Cluster Barcelona reaffirmed its commitment to new generations and to promoting the value of the leather sector. The cluster continues to drive initiatives that connect talent, training and industry, convinced that the future of the sector depends on helping young people discover and develop their professional potential.
Leather Cluster Barcelona is a competitive cooperation environment that develops strategic projects to strengthen the leather ecosystem, aligned with Shared Value policies. The organisation is accredited under the Catalonia Clusters programme and supported by Acció.
