One of the challenges for both the leather and fashion sectors is to dispose of the finished leather scraps generated by the manufacturing industry and its value chain. The leather sector is part of the strategic scope of the design and fashion industries and in this context, Leather Cluster Barcelona wants to lead this new project for the reuse of finished leather scraps.
To undertake this difficult challenge, the cluster will develop the project together with the SIFU Group and with the collaboration of Nquart Leather and the La Gaspar Municipal School of Art and Design in Igualada
This is a Shared Value and Circular Economy project, with the purpose of having a positive impact on society and promoting a balance between business competitiveness and social and environmental improvement.
Of Shared Value because the project wants to promote the participation of people with functional diversity in the production of these new leather articles made from leftovers.
Circular Economy because the project aims to recycle leftover leather scraps in the production of fashion and craft products, to, from these, generate new creations and give a second life to these materials.
