Lleida to Host the 1st National Forum on Live Animal Transport on May 29th

On May 29, 2026, the Teatre de l’Escorxador in Lleida will host the 1st National Forum on Live Animal Transport, a day that will bring together professionals, government agencies, and experts to analyze the main challenges of this strategic activity for the agri-food sector.

As reported by Eurocarne, the event is organized by the National Association of Live Animal Transporters (ANTA) in collaboration with 3tres3 and with the support of the Lleida City Council. The event will take place from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and attendance is free.

The objective of this first edition is to create a space for meeting, dialogue, and knowledge exchange among the various stakeholders involved in live animal transport, addressing key issues related to regulations, sector operations, and future challenges.

The event will also feature institutional participation from the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and the Government of Catalonia, reinforcing the cross-sectoral nature of this forum.

During the meeting, key issues for the transport of live animals will be addressed, including:

The responsibilities and competencies of transporters.
The interpretation and application of national and European regulations.
Roadside controls and inspections, and coordination between government agencies.
Animal welfare during transport and best professional practices.
Biosecurity, cleaning, and disinfection of vehicles.

The challenges and future opportunities for the sector.

The forum will include the participation of institutional representatives, technical experts, and transport professionals, and aims to become a leading annual event for this crucial area of ​​the agri-food chain.
