The European CAP Network has called the second edition of the ARIA “Agrarian and Rural Inspiration Awards” with some new features. The motto of this edition is “empowering youth.” These awards focus on good practices funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and/or the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF) and that promote food security, environmental resilience and the socio-economic fabric of rural areas.
Applications can only be submitted through the PAC Network and projects must fall into one of the following four categories:
- Competitive and smart agriculture
- Environmental Protection
- Socioeconomic fabric of rural areas
- Rural youth (new category)
In addition to the category award and the popular vote award, this year there will be a new award for projects that promote gender equality in any of the four categories. The deadline for receiving applications ends on July 5. Application submission email: [email protected].

What are the ARIA awards?
They are the successor awards to the “Rural Inspiration Awards”, which rewarded the best cases of good practices developed in rural areas to highlight them and facilitate knowledge of effective formulas for rural development under the protection of the old Rural Development Programs (PDR).
These new awards – expanded under the rationale of the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023-2027 and which brings together for the first time the two pillars, agricultural and rural – aim to identify and share good practices, but this time, developed under the umbrella of the CAP.
