Provacuno Developed in collaboration with Miguel Hernández University (UMH) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), this mobile application, a Decision Support System (DSS), categorizes farms and their manure based on information about manure management practices.

Free of charge and already available for both iOS and Android, the Provacuno DSS Manure app provides farmers with a report based on its proprietary database characterizing beef cattle manure. This database links management practices to different farm categories, deducing manure production and composition to improve agronomic and environmental management.
How does it work?
Using a pre-established decision tree, the system identifies practices that help generate higher-quality amendments based on their composition. Furthermore, by saving the information, it serves as a personal database, allowing farmers to compare the different results after applying recommended farm management practices.
The Provacuno DSS Manure app is part of a project whose main objective is to develop a Best Available Techniques (BAT) proposal for advanced cattle manure agro-composting aimed at mitigating climate change. To implement this, a set of improved, low-cost, and viable cattle manure management protocols has been designed for short- to medium-term farm use. All this information is compiled in a guide available on the Provacuno website.
At the level of agricultural soil management, the development of biofertilizers using agro-compost generated from cattle manure has also been tested, thus advancing the region’s fertilizer sovereignty.
All these actions contribute positively to the reduction of ammonia and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, maintaining the sector’s commitment to moving towards climate neutrality.
