Javier López, director of Provacuno, thanked the recognition, noting that the prize “values the interprofessional’s commitment to fact-based, science-driven communication about a sector that is essential for ensuring Spain’s food sovereignty and supporting rural development”.

Among the actions highlighted by the jury are:

  • The documentary Fans del Vacuno, addressing the importance of beef consumption.

  • Goodbye Cows, which imagines a world without cattle and its consequences.

  • Scientific studies, such as the research carried out with REMEDIA showing that the carbon footprint of Spanish beef is 66% lower than the global average.

  • The European programme Sustainable European Beef, aimed at showcasing the sector’s sustainability and training farmers in new techniques and technologies.

In this fourth edition, Provacuno is recognised alongside other awardees such as Maldita, Javier Santaolalla, Think–Fluencer and Prodigioso Volcán. The award ceremony will take place on 19 February 2026.
