The Plenary of the Consell has approved the decree that establishes the requirements to be followed by training courses on animal welfare in the Valencian Community developed by the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition. The purpose of this decree is to establish the procedure through which the personnel of livestock farms, animal transport, slaughter and zoological centers obtain adequate training in animal welfare matters.
The text establishes the type, content, organization and approval of these training courses, including the issuance of the certificate of competence.
This rule will be applied in the training courses given by the Generalitat and to the approval of the entities that provide training in animal welfare in the Valencian Community, when it is necessary to comply with the autonomous, state or community regulations.
The typology of the courses focuses on four areas based on the care, management practices and welfare of the animals and the offspring of the species they are in charge of.
