In the sheep and goat production chain, the BAIE seal is the only certification system that has objective and quantifiable parameters based on scientific and technical publications. The differential element of the seal is its independence in the controls: each one of the operators in the chain follows independent controls of the process controlled by ENAC, the only accredited certification entity in Spain.

“Animal welfare is one of the highest demands of consumers when selecting products. 84% of Europeans declared in the last Eurobarometer that stricter controls are needed to guarantee the conditions of animals and this represents a great change and commitment in production systems” declares Tomás Rodríguez, Director of INTEROVIC.

This referential seal has been established thanks to a multidisciplinary scientific committee made up of consumers, representatives of sectors and professional and business associations, etc. with the aim of granting the maximum values of reliability on the good practices carried out in matters of welfare, health and food, biosafety and traceability in sheep and goats.
