UPA asks Agriculture for changes in the project for the management of beef farms

UPA has indicated to the MAPA that in the current drafting of the standard there are some aspects that would create “serious problems”, such as the one referred to the distances between newly created farms, or modernization of existing ones, which requires a distance of 500 meters between farms. , something that according to UPA is “impossible to comply”. “90% of the cattle ranches would have serious problems to find a plot where to settle”, has indicated, the organization.

The management plan, as they emphasize, is “brave and necessary”, and should serve to prevent large farms from being installed in Spain, but it has to allow Spanish livestock “to continue working, creating employment and above all to be able to continue producing quality meat and milk “.
